Saturday 17th December 2011 : 1.30-3.30 The Tutti Flutey and Reunion Brass concert was a great success. Great music bringing a warm Christmas vibe to Royal Quays on a very cold December day.
On behalf of the enjoymuzic team we would like to thank the members of both groups for their time and a wonderful performance.
1.30 Reunion Brass 2pm Tutti Flutey 2.30 Reunion Brass 3pm Tutti Flutey
About Tutti Flutey... Tutti Flutey flute choir was formed by Hazel Graham in 1993 with a group of enthusiastic flute students.
A flute event with over 1000 flautists and Sir James Galway at the Barbican in London took place the next year, with Tutti Flutey performing in the foyer.
Annually, since 1995, the group, with visiting past members, has played in the local primary schools Christingle Service at St Georges Church, Cullercoats.
In recent years the group has performed at many local events and has hosted several charity fundraising concerts.
Small ensembles from Tutti Flutey have performed for government ministers and royalty.
About Reunion Brass... Reunion Brass was formed in 2006 following a reunion event held for members and past members of the North Tyneside Youth Concert Wind Band. The founder members of Reunion Brass have all played with the Concert Band at different times over the decades since it began performing in the early 1970s: Michael Graham (flugelhorn and trumpet) during the 1970s; Wendy Innes (trumpet) during the 1980s, Stuart Stephenson (trumpet) during the 1990s; and Peter Lamb (euphonium) during the last 10 years.
Recently, the membership of Reunion Brass has been augmented by Bob Harrison (conductor of the Concert Band) on trumpet and John Flood on trombone - both peripatetic teachers and talented brass players.
Performing locally in concerts throughout the Tyneside area, Reunion Brass plays a wide variety of music to suite all tastes, but with an emphasis on enjoyment and fun for performers and audience!
On 17 December 2011, Reunion Brass will be performing a selection of Christmas and other music at Royal Quays, outside the premises of enjoymuzic, at 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
Saturday 3rd December 2011 : 2-3pm Thanks to Anna & Abi from Piccolo Music for running an excellent drop in ukulele workshop on Saturday 3rd December. The event was a great success and lots of fun was had by all.
